- The difference is when the task switching is done. In cooperative
- multitasking, the task has to call the task switch itself when it
- feels like resting. In a pre-emptive multitasking environment, the
- scheduler (which usually is activated by interrupt), is the one who
- makes the switches happen. The tasks themselves have no control over
- when they are active or not.
